The rules of the road.

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") are a contract between you and Resume Sketch ("Resume Sketch", "we", "us") for the use of resumesketch.com, the Resume Sketch app, share links, integrations and related services (the "Service").

You accept them when you tick "I agree to the Terms & Conditions" while creating your account, accept them in the app, or otherwise use the Service. If you don't agree, please don't use Resume Sketch. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data and forms part of these Terms.

• You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent where you live, if higher) and able to enter a binding contract.
• Give accurate information and keep it up to date. Don't impersonate anyone.
• One person, one account. Creating extra accounts to get more free credits, resumes, trials or referral bonuses is not allowed.
• You're responsible for everything done through your account. Keep your password secret and tell us straight away at support@resumesketch.com if you suspect unauthorised use.
• Accounts are personal. Don't sell, share, rent or transfer yours.

Resume Sketch is an AI-powered resume builder. Depending on your plan, it includes resume templates, an editor, AI writing, tailoring and scoring, resume analysis, cover letters, cold emails (optionally sent through your Gmail), share links, and access from AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude.

We keep improving the Service. Features may be added, changed or removed, and we may set limits (for example, on the number of resumes, file sizes or requests). We'll give reasonable notice before removing a major paid feature.

• Plans: Free, Pro and Max, with the limits and prices shown on our pricing page at the time you buy.
• Billing cycle: a paid plan runs from the day it starts to the same day next month (for example, the 8th to the 8th). It ends at the end of the period unless renewed, and the account returns to Free.
• AI credits: AI features use credits. Your plan's credits refill at the start of each cycle. Unused plan credits don't carry over. Max includes 3,000 credits plus 1,000 extra each month.
• Bonus credits (for example, from referrals) are valid for one month from the day they're granted. They're used first if they expire first, and have no cash value.
• Your own API keys: AI requests made with your own provider key don't use Resume Sketch credits, but are billed to you by that provider and still subject to these Terms.
• Payments are handled by our payment processor. Prices may change for future periods; we'll tell you before a change affects you.
• Refunds: payments are non-refundable once a period has started, except where the law requires otherwise or we end the Service for reasons other than your breach of these Terms. Accounts terminated for misuse are not refunded.

You can invite friends with your personal link. When someone who signed up through it starts Pro or Max, you both receive bonus credits (50% of that plan's base credits), valid for one month. Full rules are on the invite page.

• Inviting yourself, using fake or duplicate accounts, or buying and refunding plans to farm bonuses is fraud.
• We may withhold, reverse or remove bonuses gained through abuse, and suspend the accounts involved.
• We may change or end the programme at any time. Bonuses already granted stay valid until they expire.

Resume Sketch's AI is provided for creating and improving your own career documents. You agree not to:

• Use automated scripts, bots or scrapers to send AI requests, or run the AI at volumes no person would (credit draining, load testing).
• Resell, sublicense or give others access to Resume Sketch's AI, or use it to power another product or service.
• Try to bypass credit limits, rate limits, plan limits or safety filters, including by creating multiple accounts.
• Attempt prompt injection, jailbreaks or other attacks to make the AI reveal its instructions, other users' data or system details, or to behave outside its purpose.
• Use the AI for things unrelated to careers and job searching at scale (for example, as a general-purpose chatbot or content farm).
• Generate fake qualifications, degrees, certificates, employment history, references or identity documents, or resumes for people who don't exist.
• Generate content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, violent, defamatory, or that infringes someone else's rights.
• Use the cold email feature for spam, bulk unsolicited messages, phishing or anything that breaks anti-spam laws or Google's policies.
• Feed in other people's personal data without their permission.
• Use AI outputs to train or improve a competing AI model.

AI output is generated automatically and can be wrong. You are responsible for reviewing it and for everything you submit to employers. Never present AI-generated claims you can't back up as true.

• Break any law, or help anyone else do so.
• Create false, misleading or fraudulent resumes, or impersonate another person or organisation.
• Access or try to access accounts, data or systems that aren't yours, or probe, scan or test our security without written permission.
• Upload malware, or interfere with or overload the Service (including denial-of-service attacks).
• Copy, scrape, reverse engineer or decompile the Service, its templates or its code, except where the law expressly allows it.
• Use share links to host content unrelated to your resume, or to distribute anything harmful.
• Harass, threaten or abuse Resume Sketch staff or other users.

How we detect misuse

We monitor usage automatically (request rates, credit patterns, sign-ups, referrals, sending volumes) to keep Resume Sketch fair and secure. When something looks wrong, authorised administrators may review the account, including its resumes and AI prompts, as described in our Privacy Policy.

What we may do

Depending on how serious and repeated the misuse is, we may, at our discretion:

1. Warn you and ask you to stop.
2. Remove or disable content, share links or connected services.
3. Rate-limit the account or block AI features.
4. Freeze the account (read-only: you can view, download and delete, but not create or edit).
5. Suspend the account temporarily.
6. Terminate the account permanently, delete its data and block you from creating new accounts.

Credits, bonuses, referral rewards and paid time on accounts suspended or terminated for misuse are forfeited without refund. For serious cases (fraud, attacks, illegal content, AI abuse at scale, or risks to other users) we may act immediately and without notice. Otherwise we'll try to tell you first and give you a chance to fix things.

Appeals

If you think we got it wrong, email support@resumesketch.com within 30 days with the subject "Appeal". A person will review it and reply.

• You keep all rights to the content you put into Resume Sketch and the resumes you create.
• You give Resume Sketch a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process, display and transmit your content (including to our AI and infrastructure providers) only as needed to provide, secure and improve the Service. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for backups kept for up to 30 days.
• You confirm you have the right to use everything you upload, and that your resume is truthful to the best of your knowledge.
• We may remove content that breaks these Terms or the law.

If you tick the optional third box at sign-up, or turn on Profile → Privacy & sharing, you allow Resume Sketch to share your starred resume with recruiters, hiring managers and staffing partners. Nothing else from your account is shared.

• It's free, optional, and you can turn it off at any time. Turning it off stops future sharing.
• We don't guarantee any interview, job offer or response from a recruiter.
• Recruiters receive the resume under their own terms; we can't recall copies they already have.

Some features connect to services we don't control, such as Gmail, GitHub, LinkedIn, ChatGPT, Claude and AI model providers. Your use of them is also governed by their terms. We aren't responsible for their availability or for what they do with data you send them directly.

The Service, including its software, design, templates, illustrations, text and the Resume Sketch name and logo, belongs to Resume Sketch and its licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use it under these Terms. You may use resumes you make with our templates for your own job search, but you may not copy or redistribute the templates themselves.

You can stop using Resume Sketch and delete your account at any time in Profile → Account. Deletion is permanent: your resumes, profile and connections are removed right away (backups within 30 days). Download anything you want to keep first. Remaining paid time and credits are not refunded.

Sections that by their nature should continue (such as payment obligations, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity and governing law) survive after your account closes.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. In particular, we don't guarantee:

• that you will get interviews, offers or responses from employers or recruiters;
• that resumes will pass every applicant tracking system (ATS);
• that AI suggestions, scores or analyses are accurate or complete;
• that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of data loss. Keep your own copies of important resumes.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Resume Sketch will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost opportunities, lost data or loss of goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid Resume Sketch in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD 50 (or its equivalent in INR). Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

You agree to defend and compensate Resume Sketch for claims, damages and costs (including reasonable legal fees) brought by third parties that result from your content, your misuse of the Service, or your breach of these Terms or the law.

We may update these Terms. When we do, we change the version and effective date at the top. For material changes we'll tell you by email or in the app and ask you to accept the new version; if you don't accept, you can close your account. Continuing to use Resume Sketch after a change takes effect means you accept it.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. We'd like to resolve any problem informally first, so please contact us. If we can't, disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in India, unless the consumer law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your own courts.
