Cookies and browser storage
In plain words:We use a few essential cookies to keep you signed in, optional analytics in the app, and your browser's storage for settings. Nothing for advertising.
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser and reads back on later visits. Local storage and session storage are similar browser features that keep data on your device only; they are not sent to our servers with every request.
This policy covers resumesketch.com, the Resume Sketch app and public share links. It explains each item we use. How we handle personal data in general is in our Privacy Policy.
Essential cookies
In plain words:Needed for sign-in and security. They can't be switched off without breaking the app.
These are set only by the app (app.resumesketch.com) and are first-party: no other company can read them.

The cookie names start with resumy for historical reasons; they belong to Resume Sketch.
Analytics cookies
In plain words:The app and share links use Google Analytics to count visits in aggregate. The marketing site doesn't set analytics cookies.

- We use the reports in aggregate to decide what to build and fix. We don't use them to show you ads.
- You can block them in your browser, or install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on. The app keeps working normally.
Settings kept in your browser
In plain words:Theme, AI settings, chat drafts and similar preferences live in your browser's storage, on your device only.

Clearing your browser's site data removes all of these. That signs you out and deletes any API keys you saved, so copy them first if you need them.
Third-party sites
- Signing in with GitHub or LinkedIn and connecting Gmail take you to those companies' own pages, which set their own cookies under their policies.
- Buy Me a Coffee, if you tip us, is a separate site with its own cookies.
- We don't embed social media trackers, advertising pixels or third-party chat widgets.
What we don't do
- No advertising or retargeting cookies.
- No selling or sharing of cookie data with advertisers or data brokers.
- No fingerprinting or tracking you across other websites.
How to control cookies
- Every browser lets you see, block and delete cookies in its privacy settings, for all sites or just ours.
- Blocking essential cookies means you can't stay signed in to the app.
- Blocking analytics cookies has no effect on how Resume Sketch works.
- Browser "Do Not Track" and Global Privacy Control signals: we don't sell personal data or run ads, so there is nothing for them to switch off beyond the analytics above.
